momstown kiddies have a blast bowling!

We are always looking for fun things for our momstown kiddies to do.  We love our craft days, song time and other fun events, but sometimes it's fun to get the kids out exploring and trying things they might not otherwise try!

Sometimes kids are nervous to try new things and sometimes mom is!

Going bowling was something that lots of our moms didn't think their little ones were ready for, but by all the fun that they had yesterday we proved that even at 18 months you can have a blast bowling!!

We invaded Bowlerama in Barrie and got the kids ready in their bowling shoes.  Bowlerama was so great to us and were so prepared for the rush of little ones!

There was so much chaos by our large momstown group, but the kids didn't seem to mind!  Waiting their turn was the hardest part about the day... and learning to stay on their own lane!

The kids were excited and some didn't understand at first about rolling the ball, and there were lots of crashes as the 5 pin balls were thrown!

As the morning went on the kids learned to be patient and wait their turn, to be patient and wait for the balls to come back and to roll their ball as hard as they could to get a "goal" as my little one called it.

Watching how much fun the kids were having was the best part of my morning.  This is an event we will be repeating again for sure!  Hearing all the giggles and squeals of joy was so awesome.

Even the moms got in on the fun when the kids were winding down with a snack.  Some of them have some great skill and we will be putting that to the test next month when the moms head out bowling!!!

A crafty Pinterest Day with the Barrie momstown mamas!

Mamas like to get crafty too!  It's a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, crafting, eating, coffee (or wine!) lots of chit chat and laughter!

We have all come to love Pinterest and have been having some evenings where we choose something to craft.  This time we decided to make a day out of it and do more than one thing.

One of our moms had a great idea to make a salt scrub.  This was so fun and with the winter weather drying out our skin, so sensible!

We took some sea salt, olive oil, coconut oil and some all natural oils from citrus zest.   It was lots of fun to mix up our own scrub and get creative.

Testing our creations out was fun too, our hands were soooo soft!!!

Our second craft was a menu board.  With busy family lives and the task of saving money and staying on a budget, a set menu for the week is a great way to reduce impulse shopping when getting groceries!

We took some photo frames, scrapbookinng paper and our own creativity and came up with some creative and amazing looking pieces!!

This was a really fun afternoon and we will be doing this again for sure!

My Friend Henry. Tales for Tots with the Barrie kiddies!

The kids really liked this story!  My Friend Henry was a little bit silly and have a little bit of mystery for the kids!

The kids waited as on each page a little boy asks "Have you seen my friend Henry?" and give a little description of what Henry looks like.

As the book goes on Henry begins to get sad as all the people he asks tell them they have seen Henry with a different friend.

So where is Henry??  You will have to read the book to find out!

As always with our Tales for Tots program, Scholastic makes sure one lucky mama goes home with a copy of the book!

Barrie Babies Love Tales for Tots, Baby Style!

Tales for Tots has always been a favorite with the members.  The books we get are so fantastic thanks to Scholastic Canada.

This month we started something new and new program, Baby Basics Tales for Tots.

The moms were so happy to have a reading program just for the littlest ones!

Normally our Baby Basics is a quiet and more intimate group meeting at someones home, or somewhere cozy.  This time we took it to Williams Coffee Pub so we could fit more mamas and have a hot beverage while we all checked out the book,

This month the book was I Love You be.JHOIHIGLIG.   It was a super soft cloth book with a little mirror on it.

The moms were impressed by how soft the book was and how vibrant the colours were.

It was the perfect book to start off our Baby Basic Tales for Tots program.  Thanks Scholastic!

Silly Monsters come to Barrie!

This month's theme has been so much fun!

Our Art and Play is always a great draw for the mommies and the kiddies.  We do some crafts, sometimes some songs, sometimes some books.... always fun!

Last week we made Silly Monsters!  The kids had fun taking different materials to make their monsters.

How many eyes does your monster have?  Does he have antennas?  Long arms?  Silly shapes?

The kids giggled away as they created their monsters... and who can make just one!

We also found the perfect storty to read, The Monsters Tea Party!  A great first reader book that had the kids repeating words and giggling!

Can't wait for more silly fun!

P is for Puppet! Silly Puppets!

Our letter of the week for our Alphabet Crafts at Chapters was the letter P.

This was a great time to make some Puppets!

To follow with our them of the month, All Things Silly, we made Silly Puppets!

A super easy craft and super fun for the kids.  No rules, the sillier the better!

We had puppets with 4 eyeys and puppets with 4 arms.  Puppets with crazy hair and puppets with fuzzy pom poms.

This kids enjoyed making these and loved being able to be creative and silly!

Barrie tots enjoy some Silly Snacks!

What a fun theme this month... all things Silly!!!

Junior Chef today was super fun and super silly!  We made silly face snacks!  It was lots of fun to see the kids create their faces.

We usually teach our kids not to play with their food, but today was all about using food to make faces!

The kids took some nice fresh bread and spread it with peanut butter, some needed moms help but others did great on their own!

The kids then got creative using some healthy food to make faces.  Apples and Bananas, mini marshmallows and raisins!

The faces looked great and were so cute... and delicious too!

The kids had fun making this silly snack and it was a healthy way for them to play with their food and eat something good!
