Rain, Rain, Go Away.... The children want to play!!

So the kids have had a taste of the summery weather, warm and sunny with lots of outside playing.... but now the rain has come, and looks like its' here for a few days.

Oh how fast the cabin fever sets in for moms as we try to occupy a 2 year old who just wants to play outside...who really wants the rain to stop more, mom or child?

Momstown is usually a saving grace for the "what should we do to today?" dilemma... but alas, today's finger painting at the park was postponed because of the rain... Let's pray the rain holds on for Friday so we can still enjoy our Parachute Play and Picnic at that Park!!!

Momstown has a load of fun stuff next week, (can you believe it's going to be JUNE already?!?) so hopefully the rain will have had enough this week and the weather will be gorgeous for all the outdoor activities to come! Next brings picnics, park play and the ZOO

With June approaching so does our Spring Fling Family BBQ! June 13th at Eden Crest Farms. We have a great day planned and have requested good weather!

So as the rain falls, and my daughter dances with the Wiggles, I plan for what to do next and look forward to the weather being nice once again....

Long Weekends....the first sign summer is on the way!

With long weekend behind us, the sun shining and warm weather predicted for days to come, spring is finally here and summer is on its way!!

This past Victoria's Day weekend brought us cold weather, rain, sun, wind... you name it. A variable cornucopia of weather...none of which was warm and summery....

But alas as luck always has it, the weekend is over and the nice weather arrives. But hey, I'll take it!!! Warm weather means parks, walks, trips to the lake front....yes, that means not being stuck inside with the kids!!

Momstown is taking full advantage of the warm weather and getting outdoors this week! Wednesdat is music at the park with farm animals as the theme, Thursday is a walk at the water front and Friday is Art in the Park. We are also only 4 weeks away from our Spring Fling BBQ at Eden Crest Farms.

So for those of you looking to get out and wanting to start enjoying the warmer weather make sure to check out momstown and all the great events that are coming up during the warm month!

Mother's Day

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!

My mother's day this year was a double whammy with it also being my birthday... so it was very busy!

Looking back on our busy hectic day, I can smile knowing that even a day meant for ME, reminds that its my kids that really make the day, and without them I just wouldn't be a mom!

Whether you were served breakfast in bed or had to get up and make your own, whether you were showered with flowers and gifts or had to clean up spills and toys, the day was yours and I know that all the kids out their made it special and all the moms wouldnt' change that for anything.

Mother's Day is also a reminder that we are in full swing of spring! The weather may have been cooler the past few days, but the sun has been shining and there is so much to look forward to as we move through spring and on to summer!

Momstown has a ton of great events coming up to help everyone get out and enjoy spring with the kiddies!!! Art in the Park, Walks by the Lake and so much more!!!

Be sure to check back for what's coming up!!!!!!!

What a SUCCESS!!!!!!!!

Momstown Mania was a HUGE success!!! Thank you to all the moms who came out to Sunnidale Park and joined us for a fabulous day of fun!!!!

All the preparation, planning and hard work really paid off!!! Stacie and I are so pleased with the turnout, it really was a great day and it was so nice to see so many moms and their kids all having fun!!!

We had many great volunteer helpers that made mine and Stacie's job that much easier and helped the day to be a success. They all did a fabulous job and were smiling the whole time!!!

Lots of sun and warm weather made everyone cheerful and the laughter and excitement from the kids made the day perfect!!!

Kellogg's was there bright and early to set up and was a huge with all the kids! I think all the kids had their fill of cereal!!!

We started the morning off with our parachute and circle time which was so much fun!!! Many of the kids have never played with a parachute before and the giggles and squeals of delight were so contagious!

Mariposa Gymnastics set up an obstacle course for the kids and they all loved climbing and jumping off the equipment, some of them really took off!!!.

The Bunny Lady was also a huge hit! Gina set up a pen with some bunnies for the kids to play with and they sure were popular!!!

And then the Barrie Fire Department made their appearance... with lights aglow they drove right out on to the field and the kids made a fast bee line to see the truck and firefighters... of course moms were close behind!

Kindermusik was also a big draw and huge success! The kids all piled into the Dorian Centre where they danced and sang songs... it sure was noisy but the kids were all happy!!!!

Picasso Painting and Mother's Day Planting were also a hit with the kids! The moms all got to relax for a bit while their kids got messy with the paints and then dug in the dirt to plant their flowers... and after all the mess every mom got a great gift to take home made just for them by their little ones!!!

To top off the day Tanya from Heritage read stories to the kids which they all loved.... then a final circle with the parachute, prize draws and clean up.

What a fun-filled busy day!!!! We were all exhausted, a little sunburned, but happy!!!!

Until next year, where "mania" can only be bigger and better! Thank you Barrie Moms for a FABULOUS Day!!!!!!!!!!!
