Pizza College with Boston Pizza

For a few years now we have been heading to Boston Pizza for a make your own pizza event.

It is always a great time, even though it's an early morning for pizza eating! We hadn't done it in a while so I got us a date and the moms signed up in droves!

A 9:30am start to the event is early for many of our momstown mamas, but to do something so fun with the kids was well worth it.

The kids loved that we had the restaurant to ourselves. They ran to their seats and coloured away until it was time to make their own personal pizza!

Each kid received an tray with their dough in it, all streteched out and ready to be topped!

Then they got their sauce. This was the messy part! They spread it all around and made to sure to get a good covering for their next topping!

On to the cheese!!! Some of the kids dumped it on, some took a more delicate approach and put the strands on one by one... some just ate it.

And finally there was the pepperoni. They put their pepperoni on top of the cheese and their masterpiece was done! They each received a number so we would know which pizza belonged to who.

A quick tour of the kitchen to see where all the restaurant magic happens and the big ovens that were baking their pizza, and it was time play until the pizzas were done.

Before we knew it the pizzas were coming out! They looked fantastic, the kids are true pizza picassos!!!

They all dug in and enjoyed their creations, who doesn't love pizza in the morning!!!

To acknowledge all their hard work and their great pizza making skills, the mosmtown kiddies all received a certificate to show they had completed Boston Pizza College.

Looking forward to the next one!!

Hockey in the Rain!

momstown Barrie was the proud Children's Area sponsor for the 1st Boston Pizza Street Hockey Classic for Cancer Research.

The weather looked grim right from the start of the morning and sure enough, just as registration for the players was in full force the skies opened up and the rain poured down.

The wet weather didn't dampen the spirits of the players though. They suited up in their team t-shirts, strapped on their gear, grabbed their sticks and played happily in the rain!

The round robin tournament was played through the day by men and women all in support of cancer research.

The weather cleared up for a good part of the afternoon and everyone that came out was having a good time.

momstown had a fishing pond for the kiddies to stop at and do some fishing for creatures. The rain held off long enough for a bunch of kiddies to enjoy some fishing and lollipops with us.

The day ended with another down pour, a performance by Please and Thanks and an after party in Boston Pizza.

Rain and all, it was a great day for a great cause! Looking forward to next year!
