We have been talking about camping lately, and I decided our little ones needed a little camping fun, without going far, and not having to worry about the sleepover!
We gathered at one of our members homes on a gorgeous summer night, a night perfect for a kiddie campout!!!
Our mamas had a great time chatting and catching up while the kiddies enjoyed the backyard fun!
We got some mini tents set up and the kids went wild! Who would have thought that some tents would excite little ones so much! It was great to watch them squealing and climbining in and out of the tents!
It was such a nice night, and the timing of the rain a few days before lifted the fire ban that had been in place just in time for us to have a campfire!!
It had been weeks of dry, hot weather with no rain at all that had made for fire bans all around our county. But 2 days before our campout, mother nature decided to open the skies and dampen the ground so we could enjoy some roasted marshmallows over a real fire!
It took many hands to get the fire going, but once she was lit and ready the kids were ready to eat some roasted marshmallows... or some not so roasted ones!
The kids were so adorable eating their marshmallows! Some of them had never had roasted ones before and were in love with them! They were sticky with marshmallow goo from ear to ear... and in their hair.
The sugar hit and the kids ran wild for a bit. Us mamas took the time to chit chat while the sugar wore off before heading home to bed.
It was a super fun night, one I look forward to doing again!
