Jr. Chef, making lunch with Metro!

We were so lucky this month to have our Jr. Chef program sponsored by Metro.

A lot of us have kids in school where lunches tend to get boring and we run out of ideas to keep the kids eating, or we have picky eaters and are looking for new ideas to make lunch interesting.

Metro gave our momstown mamas opportunity to explore some easy lunch ideas for the kids! I took on the task of shopping for the event at Metro and keeping their Do the Math promotion in mind there were some great deals!

We had so many excited moms for this event as they all were looking forward to making lunch with the kids and having some fun!

We started the kids off by getting them to decorate their paper lunch bags. They got down to work not knowing that they would be filling these with yummy goodness!!

Once we were ready for lunch, I explained the moms about the great contest that Metro has going on with their Do The Math promotion! By shopping at Metro and keeping your reciept, you can head to their facebook page and enter to win $1000 for you and $1000 for your school! What a great prize!

I then got down to explaining our lunch. There were 4 stations for the kids to visit. First they would pick a Selections drink box. Then they would Fill a Pita with a variety of cheese, lettuce, meat and mayo!

From there they got into the snack portion. They had a chance to fill a baggie with veggies. Carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers and 3 different colours of pepper slices! There as even dip for the tasty veggies if they wanted!

And finally the fun part. We made our own snack mix. No nuts and no candy! They filled their baggies with Selections Multigrain O's cereal, Rainbow Gold Fish, Selections Sultana Raisins and marshmallows!

The kids devoured their lunches and the moms even got in on making some pitas and eating some snacks.

It was a fun mosmtown kinda day and the moms were pleased. Many were happy to see their kids loved the pitas and had a new idea for lunch! And why not make our snack mix! We will always know what it is in it!!!

To end the day, the moms all took home a Metro Shopping bag and $10 gift card so they can head to Metro to do their shopping.!
