we know how to spoil moms!
momstown is all about moms.
Everything we do, we do for our moms. We are moms and we know what moms want and need. All moms may be unique, but there are so many things that we have in common.
Being a mom is a tough job, but the most rewarding job we could ever have. momstown knows how to reward you and in just a few days, moms all over Canada will be settling in for another one of our famous Fan Parties!

D is for Dinosaur!
Our Alphabet Craft days at Chapters Indigio in Barrie are quickly becoming one of my favorite events. I love watching the kids excitment as we turn plain out letters in to fun creatures!
A for Alligator, B for Bumble Bee, C for Caterpillar and next we did D for Dinosaur!
This was my favourite so far! The cute dinosaurs that we created from the letter D were fun!
Every time we are in chapters the staff come by to check out what the next letter creation. The moms in the store that haven't heard of our event are always pleased with the free craft that their kids can join in on, and better yet, that they are learning from!

Little Tikes is coming to momstown!
Being a kid is all about having fun! momstown and Little Tikes know just how to bring fun to the kids!
Little Tikes has some great products for kids of all ages, and on May 12th, the momstown mamas and their kiddies will get a chance to test drive some of their awesome new products!
Our partner Bulldog Interactive Fitness is opening up their doors for a fantastic morning of playtime fun all sponsored by Little Tikes!
Our younger munchkins are just going to love the new Pillow Racers! These racers are super cute and are just perfect for the 18 - 36 month kids.

Helping hands at momstown....
Even when I am away momstown mamas still have fun! It's rare that I am not here to host an event and take part in the fun, but it's good to know what amazing members and friends I have here at momstown Barrie that are willing to step up and help me out!
One of our mamas helped out in a huge way! Here is her blog....
While Karrie was away enjoying a vacation of a lifetime, I had the pleasure of hosting the Make and Take at Indigo Kids.
The letter of the week was C and we decided that making letter C catterpillars would be appropriate as we were enjoying the beginning of spring. The kids were excited to use colourful circles to create their very own catterpillars.
When the crafts were done the children enjoyed exploring the books and toys within the Indigo Kids area while the mammas connected.
And the perfect way to end our visit to Indigo Kids was an impromptu story time by one of our fellow moms.

YAY momstown! One mamas view
We have lots of members that are so glad they found momstown. I hear quite often how great people think momstown is and I wish they could all sing the praises they give to me to the world. I would love for all moms to know about us and see what great fun and great value we add their lives as moms.
One of my Barrie members wrote a great post that got me all teary eyed and emotional. I wish that everyone could understand just what momstown is and how much it can make a difference in your mommy life.
Here is her story....
Momstown… More than just a mommy group
When people ask me what Momstown is, my first response is usually it’s my mommy group. But when I say that, I mean so much more. Back when I first joined momstown, I was new to Barrie. I was a first time mom who had the privilege of staying at home. I didn’t know any other moms in my area. In fact, I knew no one in Barrie at all! My eldest daughter was 7 months old when we moved here and I first became acquainted with momstown in October of 2008.
I was pregnant with our second child, sleep deprived, nauseated and just plain frustrated. I loved being a mom, but to be honest, it was wearing me out. Not having any alone time or social time was starting to take its toll. And you know it’s bad when the Hubs literally shoves you into the momstown booth at a baby expo in Barrie and says “This is my wife… she needs you” and then LEAVES you there!! As I watched him walk away from me with our little daughter in tow, I had no choice but to introduce myself to the members working the expo that day, which included, owner Karrie. I found out what it was all about, signed up for my free trial and was at my first event that week. I’ve never looked back!
momstown literally rescued me from going squirly at home. I was a shy person but immediately felt connected somehow to these women. I was able to be myself, share my joys and frustrations and never felt judged. In fact, as time went on and I went to more events, I got to know these women not just as moms, but as people. People who were going through some of the exact same trials, struggles and joys that I was going through in life, not just in parenthood.
I love that momstown is an online community that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s a place where we can go at all hours of the day or night to ask questions, post concerns or vent about our husbands, kids, family etc, and know we are not alone! It’s a source of encouragement, a place to chat and also a place to learn new things (via posts or links to information relevant to family life, moms and women.)
momstown means the world to me. I know members that have kids in school and have moved on from mosmtown but have remained close friends that see each other all the time. My very best friends are long time momstown members. We met back in 2008 and through these years have developed close friendships that extend outside of momstown. We’ve shared moments of laughter, joy and sorrow together. We’ve seen our families grow from having only one or two children to three and perhaps more! And that all started with meeting at momstown.
Thanks Karrie for the opportunity to share my thoughts on momstown with everyone today! Keep up the fantastic work! We wouldn’t have a momtown Barrie without all you do!

Easter Chicks!
Any holiday always brings out cute crafts. For one of our Easter crafts this year our momstown mamas and kiddies made some super easy, but super cute chicks!
The momstown kids and moms thought they were adorable and they had so much fun making them.
All we needed was so bright yellow cups found at the party store, feathers, construction paper, googly eyes and some imaginative kids!
The kids had a great time making their chick faces, all kids see, to love glue and even better, googly eyes!
Once the faces were ready we glued them onto our chick bodies (paper cups) and then covered the body in feathers!
We added some feet and some feathers to the head and voila! An adorable Easter chick!
This craft was lots of fun and so cute! The kids had a great time, and the moms did too!

April Fools!!
After all these years I am still undecided if I like April Fools Day.
It seems like a relatively harmless day, yet for some reason my memories of it are not so fond. Perhaps I have suppressed some horrible prank that was played on me in my youth.... I have no idea.
What I do know I like about this day is hearing about ways OTHER people have been pranked or have pulled off a prank, as long as I am not a part of it, I am a-ok!
Many years ago a friend of mine played a joke on her live in boyfriend, it was hilarious, at least to us. However, if the role was reversed I would have been mortified!
She cleverly covered their toilet in clear plastic wrap after he was fast asleep. In the middle of the night when he got up to relieve himself, he received a very, ummm, wet splashing surprise. Funny right? Not to him!!!
Many friends in my younger years found this day all too fun and went above and beyond to entertain themselves. Here are just a few of the April Fool's pranks they played on unsuspecting significant others...
Sewing the cuffs on a shirt so they can't get their hands through. Funny, but not if it was you!!
Filling their partners shoes with whip cream. Ummm, ewww.
Resetting all the clocks in the house to be far ahead so they were super early for work.
All in good fun for the person playing the joke right? Just remember, one day, the prankster will become the prankee... their time will come!
