This has been such a great week! An outing with friends to the play centre, lunch with a good friend and then a private swim with the Momstown Mommies!!!
Momstown rented the pool at the Allandale Rec Centre for all our mommies! We had about 17 moms and their little ones come out for some afternoon pool time! The toddlers and preschooler giggled and splashed and played, and all the babies had some great swim time and face to face play in the pool with mommy! We even had one brave (or smart?) dad join us in the pool!!! What a lucky man to be surrounded by all our bathing beauties!!!
Stacie and I are also deep in the planning stages of Momstown Mania!!! Just over a month way is our first Mania event!!!! Its a free event for all the mommies in Barrie to come out and celebrat being a mom! Spend a few hours and see all momstown has to offer, a month of momstown in a day!!! So as May 6th approaches we will be getting super excited and be super busy planning one of the biggest momstown events yet!!!

Spring is Here!
So we survived March Break! The weather was great, the kids were awesome and we did lots without feeling rushed!
Now spring is here and the warm weather is teasing us... so much to do with the nice weather sticking around more!
momstown was quiet over march break, but that was to be expected with all the events going on, the visiting people were doing and the vacation time families were taking
So with spring finally here, Momstown is deep in to the planning its first Mania, and it's sure to be an awesome event. Stacie and I are in the throws of planning and working had to make sure this event is awesome! when great minds work together you can be sure to expect great things!
Make sure you keep May 6th open...Momstown Mania comes to town from 9 - 1 on May 6th and you don't want to miss it! There will be lots of activities, draws and fun for everyone! All proceeds from lunch sales will be going to the Invest in Kids charity. As well, for the spring months we will be donating a portion of membership fees to the same charity! so be sure to renew your membership if it's coming due, and be sure to get your friends, family and neighbours to join momstown! its a great place to be!!!

March Break
So March Break is here.... well I guess if you dont have school aged kids that means nothing more than busier malls, movie theaters and play centres... For those of us that have kids in school this means much more... no planned routine for a whole week, more kids home all day, looking for things to keep them from being BORED and searching for ways to occupy the child that is used to being at school all day with their friends, and of course spending money to keep your sanity... ah yes, and they call it March BREAK...is that as in nervous BREAKdown?
LOL... of course we should all enjoy this time with our kids, and we try. No really, I do, try that is... its not always easy with a pre-teen!!!
There are a ton of things going on around Barrie this week but we have chosen to take this time to visit with friends out of town, family and to make the best of the week ahead and have as much fun as possible.
So I am off to enjoy my March Break... one day (so I have been told) I will be missing these days when my kids are home bugging me and hanging off me....I love my girls!!!!

Another week down... come on Spring!
This week was great for weather... warm and spring like!!! what a tease knowing that March has not finished unleashing its surprises!!!
My kids loved the warm weather, my oldest even got her bike out after school on Friday in that +18 weather!!
This week was great all around though, not just the weather! March is National Craft Month, so with Momstown we celebrated this by having a Craft Extravaganza!! With 6 crafts and lots of kids it was a crazy morning, but the kids made some cute crafts! We even had a DAD join us so his kids could take part when MOM was a work!! What a man, now that is a great dad!!!
Saturday was the highlight of the week for some of the mommies! With a night off from the kids and chance to relax at a nice restaurant without chasing a screaming kid, cleaning up spilled drinks and thrown food and eating a meal when it comes... we headed to Moxie's in Barrie!
It was a great night with lots of chatter and laughter and good food... service, well it gave us a good laugh and entertained us for the evening.
The week ahead is looking promising as well... get togethers with the moms, warm weather again and who knows what else is in store!!!
I cant' wait! Now off to finish this week with a day of scrapbooking!! Does like get any better!!!

March already?
I can't believe it's March! Spring is on its' way, though with the frigid tems this week you would never know it!
I can't wait for spring for so many reasons... walks out side without feeling like a snowman, the grass will be green again, the flowers will start to bloom, I can send my oldest outside to play when she makes me crazy and not feeling like a bad mom for turning her into a popsicle... and so many more reasons!
Spring for momstown means a lot too! Outdoor activities, spring themed crafts and events, field trips and so much more!!!!
Be sure to check out the momstown calendar to see what we have going on for SPRING!!!! Ah, spring, my new favorite word!

Family Day
I hope everyone enjoyed Family Day on Monday. It was nice to have a long weekend following a busy week and take some time to spend with family.
Life is so busy and I am always running around from place to place, getting things done, packing lunches, going to Karate, working etc. This family day I really enjoyed having some down time with my boys. We went skating in the morning and I loved watching my 7 yr old race around the ice, taking the time with my 3 yr old to help him skate. We sat at the snack bar and had chips and juice, just talking and being silly. Braydon, my 7yr old son said "I wish we could go swimming now!" I looked at him and said, "ok! lets go home and get our stuff!" I thought he was going to fall off his chair. Usually we have to rush to another activity, or get grocerys, or get home to clean the house. Instead, we ran home, got our suits and off we went to the pool! it was great. We were all exhausted at the end of the day and everyone was in bed early. As I watched my boys sleep, I sat back and thought about how fast time goes and we really do have to cherish every moment, because it goes away fast!
We are celebrating all of our February Birthdays on Monday here in Momstown at our Monthly Birthday celebration. I am sure there will be cake everywhere and lots of great picture opportunities. It will be a time to sit back, reflect and see how fast your little one has grown. If it is your childs first birthday or their 3rd, I am sure at some point you have asked yourself where has the time gone, and watched in amazement as your little one learns new things each and every day.

Valentines Day was busy one.

Friday was a busy day in Momstown Barrie!
The day started off with our Valentines Day Party. Everyone wore Valententines Colours and enjoyed our circle, with a story ( Kiss Kiss) and a valentines finger play. The older children played some games, did some crafts and ate snacks. The little ones enjoyed crawling around and visiting with friends.
Then that evening it was Moms night out! We attended a Pole Dancing Class at Organic Bodies. The class started off with a warm up, then some sexy walks. We then learned a "routine". It is harder than it looks swinging around a pole and trying to look graceful! We all had a great time, with lots of laughs, some bruises, and very sore muscles the next day.
Im only speaking for myself but today ( two days later) pretty much every muscle in my body hurts. From my neck ( neck rolls), to my arms ( pulling myself up on the pole), to my ribs and abs (laughing so hard and trying to suck it all in, while doing the "sexy up") right down to the ankle I banged on the pole, while doing the "carousel". It was all worth it.
We ended the eveing with a tea at Timmies, as we were all to tired and sore to do anything more exciting!
By the time I got home on Friday night, I was exhausted. I can't say I have packed that much in to a day in a long time.
